Project PurposeWater conservation is a key element of overall water resources planning. Long-term water conservation planning is needed to extend Colorado’s water supply as demands on it increase from a growing population. The Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning (OWCDP) has been legislatively charged with the duty to provide technical assistance to municipal, industrial, agricultural, and other water providers and state agencies as they plan for, evaluate, and implement water conservation plans. The OWDCP is also responsible for administering financial assistance in the form of Water Efficiency Grant Program, which can be used for water conservation planning and implementation.
